Ah, Rudy (Karol)
Ross Douthat says what I've been saying, but better: Rudy isn't going to change his positions to suit the base. Ross thinks it's because he doesn't really want to be president. I don't know about that. I just think it's his personality to be forceful with his opinions and strong in his beliefs. We love him for it when he's agreeing with us--few are better defenders of the Iraq war specifically, and the war on terror generally, than Rudy. He doesn't budge, he doesn't bend. It's admirable. But I've said all along it's no way to win a Republican primary.
