Bye-bye, Boris
Boris Yeltsin, who engineered the final collapse of the Soviet Union and pushed Russia to embrace democracy and a market economy as the country's first post-Communist president, has died, a Kremlin official said Monday. He was 76.

Then he outlawed political parties, arrested activists and practically gave the economy to the russian mob. Sometimes a bad system which works is better than a good idea which doesn't. Ask the people who had to suffer 2000% inflation.
