Perspective
I am excited that liberals seem to be fearing a Fred Thompson candidacy. But, I do sort of remember being worried about Wesley Clark. So there's that.

Fortunately Thomson doesn't have the same propensity for inserting his foot into his mouth.
Well, that and the "New York money men" don't oppose him.

Jonah Goldberg put it well: the more Thompson speaks, the more people like him.
With Clark it was more of the opposite. He was a careerist, and it quickly became ovbious. FT has stuff: he looks like he says what he thinks, without coming off arrogant like Rudy. FT is the reason I will register Republican; all the other candidates, except perhaps Rudy, reinforce my feeling that the party is beyond repair.
