The guy named "No"

I met my first Ron Paul supporters at the party last night. They were super intense (Funkypundit commented that high intensity is a libertarian trademark and I tend to agree) but fabulously dressed:

Check out the buttons on the sleeves!

The girls had never heard of Ron Paul but the convincing Ron Paul boys had them sporting the stickers in no time:

No, I don't think Ron Paul has a chance to be anything but a fifth-tier presidential candidate but boy, the other campaigns should hope for such dedicated supporters. Ron Paul does have an army. Anti-war though it may be.

UPDATE: One of the girls wrote to me that "my friend and I do not support Ron Paul and would appreciate if you removed the picture promptly", so I agreed to blur their faces. I'm nothing if not accommodating:

My brain locked up. I thought that link was going to go to a "Ron Paul has a Posse" sticker.

I'm seeing this happen in my part of the country too--I just can't resist joining them any longer! :)

Honestly, I do hope for Ron Paul's success even though some of us are radicals. I say that almost as if it were a bad thing, but then again, what democratic society *wasn't* formed or maintained by liberty-minded radicals?

I think Newt Gingrich also has an army but his is in waiting. Come September, I really think we're going to see a campaign with a very high degree of intensity. The intensity always starts at the top and I think Ron Paul and Newt Gingrich are by far the most intense and passionate people running and "potentially running".

This is better, Karol.

What would ron Paul say if they tried to make him go to rehab?

Here's a puzzle: why only the mauve-shirted guy has vampire flashes in his eyes?
If you didn't have red-eye reduction on, the rest of the party were the same...but that's not the case.

Have your camera picked up some hidden truth?

Libertarians are so "energetic" because they're ignored and unrecognized by the GOP.

Paul won't win at all, but he is serving his purpose of declaring as a Republican: he's forcing the other candidates to actually deal with the issues versus just speaking about fluff (his debate spat with Giuliani is a great example). That's why Ron Paul is running for President.

I think the pack of marlboro's in his shirt pocket give him the "cool" factor. ;)

Is the girl on the far left wearing a Ron Paul sticker? God Bless you Karol, you are accomodating.

The Ron Paul peeps, as do most libertarians, strike me as the ones I remember from college - above average intelligence but thoroughly lacking in life experience. Libertarians don't age well.

Ron Paul might do better than you think.
The momentum is truly building. As I explain in my post, "Ron Paul Contributions Up Ten-fold, Approaching $5,000,000", and the links therein, Ron Paul is taking advantage of phenomenal grassroots support and becoming a real force to be reckoned with in the GOP primaries.

That nutty Ron Paul is so NOT going anywhere.

He's Pat Buchanan---without Pat's charm and oratory skills.

Posted by: BadBoyInASuit at June 8, 2007 11:31 AM

Ron Paul still only polls in the low single digits in REAL polls. By real, I dont mean the internet polls which Paul geeks spam.

Posted by: myra langerhas at June 8, 2007 03:00 PM

Let's see: Ron Paul is best described as libertarian, which means liberal on social issues. Immigration is perhaps his most conservative stance, yet he wants more visas. Buchanan would seal the borders completely if he could.

So how is Paul anything like Pat Buchanan? Or do you not even know his positions?

BTW, I'm best described as mostly libertarian, yet I'm not supporting Paul.
