Don't misunderestimate John McCain
Ron Paul has more cash on hand than John McCain.
Everyone's favorite Ron Paul supporter, Avery, writes "1st tier here we come."
Lest McCain-haters get too excited, though, I just want to remind everyone that John Kerry was lagging on fundraising during the '04 Democractic primary too.

The burial is one thing to look foward to in the upcoming presidential campaign.
I would be surprised if he doesn't fall out of the top 3 by the time New Hampshire rolls around, if he makes it that far.
I'm betting that he doesn't if Thompson and/or Gingrich jump into the race.

Following up on Josh's item about Fred Thompson lobbying for pro-choice policies on behalf of a family-planning group, the story represents a double threat to the nascent presidential hopeful....But the story here is not just that Thompson lobbied for a pro-choice cause, but that he's vociferously denying it now.
Within reason, lobbyists can be expected to do whatever puts bread on the table and not have it held against them, so, once again, it's not the crime; it's the coverup. You would have thought he'd have figured that out during his stint as a spy for Nixon on the Senate Watergate Committee.
He's looking better and better, isn't he? As Kool-Aid Man would say, "Oh, yeah!"
