What isn't racist?
Dawn Summers thinks the NY Times headline comparing Obama's fundraising to crop cultivating is racist.

just because someone thinks something is racist doesn't mean it is.
theres always someone somewhere that is offended by everything.
Posted by: E2 at July 17, 2007 12:30 PMat least it wasn't:
"Obama supporters clearly not niggardly"
hahahhahahaaah
Posted by: Not Dawn Summers at July 17, 2007 12:59 PMI'm not one to be so blunt (well, okay, I am), but in this case I think Ms. Summers needs to go back and look up racism in the dictionary.
Sorry, but I didn't find myself going, "Oh my gosh, that's racist!" when I saw the headline. A person should be able to use verbs in conjunction with a specific person without fear of someone, somewhere taking offense to the terms used.
Otherwise, you wouldn't be able to say "Obama Picks Running Mate" without a person going, "Oh, so we have the black man 'picking'...is that a reference to cotton?!"
There are more than enough racial issues in this country without folks seeking more.
Posted by: James Young at July 17, 2007 01:06 PMI've been known to deliberately use "cotton-picking hands" when talking about race-baiters like Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, et al. Is that racist?
No, but I hope they take it as such and prove my point.
