The end of Big Love
Click on for thoughts on the finale.
**The little girls on the parade float were entirely creepy. It was the first time I saw Bill as sort of pervy.
**"He'll never be free of it. You can't just choose your own destiny"- Louise
**I don't quite get it. Is Wanda an evil genius or a total buffoon?
**I love the struggle over belief. Ben asking Sarah "don't you believe any of it?" Bill asking Nikki if she really believes her father is the prophet. Joey telling Bill that their heavenly father had instructed that Bill become the trustee. "The believers believe in me"-Alby. Belief is so fragile.
**I hate Sarah's boyfriend. I really liked him at first but now just see him as this fake, lecherous loser.
**What an ending. I can't wait for next season. Best. Show. On. TV.

What an ending, indeed.
Currently working up a post-season recap post - I'll post it in the AN comments when availeble, but tonight, the fingers are through pecking.
Wow... that was the finale? I was so unaware.

In the finale, he talked a couple of times of the Big House and his desire for revenge against the Grants for what they did to his grandfather. And in the episodes before that, he displayed a surprisingly Machiavellian streak while playing his wives against each other over the Weber gaming stuff. I'm not surprised that he schemed againt Grant and the Greens, but to turn that onto his family seems a little cold. Next season, I think we're going to see that you can take the boy out of Juniper Creek, but you can't take the Junipoer Creek out of the boy

Yeah, the little girls on the float was way too creepy.
One thing that fascinates me on the show is how they get all of the compound actors to get the precise inbred look about them. Freakish.
Posted by: StB at August 28, 2007 04:39 PMOne thing that drives me crazy is Nicki continually tipping off Alby. On the one hand, she's really smart and manipulative, but on the other she's too stupid to realize that nothing good can come from letting Alby know that Bill and Roman were on their way back to Juniper Creek.
And what happened to all the fancy security Bill had installed to defend against the Greens? It doesn't seem to stop Alby from popping into the house every 15 minutes to drop off rattlesnakes or whatever.
