"I like being your medicine"
Ok, I'm sold, I love Mad Men.
It does violate my "watch nothing but HBO" policy, and the first three episodes aren't available On Demand, but that's ok, I'm just glad to have another show to watch and obsess about.

Good for you! It's a great show. Between the GOP, the Yankees, and the Cowboys, I was beginning to worry that you were on the wrong side of everything :)
Posted by: Steve at September 18, 2007 12:25 PMGiven the quantity of decent television out there, that HBO policy was silly anyways (after having seen episode 2 of Tell Me You Love Me last night, I may be done with HBO until the next batch of shows comes out...)
Posted by: Alceste at September 18, 2007 12:37 PMIt's phenomenal. I love Betty Draper.
I'm on the episode where they're trying to sell travel to Israel.
"It's a good story. They start in prison camps, I mean, real prisoners and the next thing you know they're in the desert, armed to the teeth, cutting their way through the enemy, dying for the cause. And then they have a government!"
"So, we have a quasi Communist state, where women have guns and it's filled with Jews. Well, not completely filled. Let's not forget that there are also Arabs." "They also have oranges." "As far as I can see, the best thing this place has going for it is that the people are good looking. Jews there don't look like Jews here, have you been to the diamond district?"

It wasn't on purpose. I am an infrequent TV watcher as it is and it just happened that everything I enjoyed watching was on HBO. I started to trust them to put out good stuff. And then they came up with John From Cincinnati.
All the smoking on Mad Men is so weird. It makes me want to light up indoors.

"Why aren't you there?"
"My life is here. My grandfather came from Russia and now we have a store on 5th Avenue. I mean, I'll visit but I don't have to live there. It just has to be."

"My mother always said, 'you're painting a masterpiece, be sure to hide the brush strokes'."
I love this show. LOVE.
