Fear the McCain

I've told everyone that would listen that I fear Republicans end up with a McCain candidacy (some reasons are lined out here, here and here). I just got an email that Peggy Noonan is doing an event for McCain in NY on September 17th. I trust Peggy Noonan, and I know a lot of other conservatives do too. If she supports McCain, I can see many people following her. This is a sign, people, believe it.

Karol, assuming a McCain nomination, what is your best guess on McCain beating Hillary? Obama?

I think it's a definite (D) in the White House.

Old story. Michael Lewis is writing for TNR back in 1996 and is covering the race. He asks a bunch of evangelicals if they back Dole cause Ralph Reed does. They say back "WHO?"I think the same thing when I hear that flocks of people are not going to back Huckabee since Grover Norquist does not like him. And while I like Noonan, flocks of people aren't going to base their selection of who the next leader of the free world on who she is backing. Cause 97% of the American people have no idea who she is. Big in Punditland does not mean big in America.
