In NY
The work of one of my favorite artists, Gustave Courbet, is coming to NY in the form of a major retrospective. It's not until February, but y'all should mark your calendars.

Posted by: Petitedov at October 16, 2007 04:50 PMI'll have to check it out when I am up there in March though the most pretentious paper I did as an undergrad was on his influence on Winslow Homer. Despite that bad memory, I've liked a lot of his stuff (I'm thinking the painting of the burial of his dad, the one of his studio and one of two nude lesbians making love on a bed-but hey any painter who has that as a subject hits a home run).
