A well-kept secret at that
U.S. Secretly Helps Pakistan Guard Nukes
This makes me feel a little better about that unstable country having weapons that could wipe out humanity. A little.

What _doesn't_ make me feel good is that this is in the press. WTF? Don't we keep secrets anymore?
Posted by: James at November 19, 2007 08:09 AMWhy don't we secretly kill A.Q. Khan and every other member of the Islamic nuke trade?
Posted by: Joe Grossberg at November 19, 2007 08:29 AMBecause our agents probably wisely decide that they're not ready to conduct such an assassination given that there could be a sea change in policy every four years. Nothing like whacking someone in year x then getting turned over to that country's authorities in year x+4.
Given the fecklessness displayed by some of our Chief Executives would you take a chance conducting a high profile assassination?
Posted by: James at November 19, 2007 08:58 AMDisgusting.
Once again, the neocon evilians build up our enemies of the future...
There MUST be perpetual war, in their eyes.
War is the only thing we seem to export nowadays.
Posted by: hashfanatic at November 19, 2007 07:36 PMKhan is very popular in Pakistan. Very. You would end up doing more damage by offing him than any you could hope to prevent. I'm sure they're watching him closely, though.
