I'm not
Is anyone sad that we might not get to run against Hillary?

No, I'm not. I'm tired of all the old anger and bitterness against the Clintons and would like to bury it.
I'm ready for some new anger and bitterness.

Posted by: Karol at December 12, 2007 07:17 PMThe only Repubilcans who should be psyched about the prospect of Clinton getting the nomination are GOP fundraisers and pundits whose anti-Hillary books are ready for printing.
Posted by: Joe Grossberg at December 12, 2007 07:29 PMBesides, having a machine politician from Chicago as POTUS offers up all sorts of cinematic/artistic opportunities.
I see a renaissance of hardboiled crime fiction with a return to the White House of Daleyesque political kingmaking.
Posted by: Gerard at December 12, 2007 07:32 PMI kind of like the idea of an entire year of assault raining down caustically on the idea that all Republicans are droopy and nasty and all democrats are pleasant, cheerful and have only nice things to say about anybody.
You can't even compliment Hillary on how nicely her shoes match her pantsuit without getting a snotty lecture back about some dirty so-and-so who didn't wait long enough in line for something or wasn't dealt a sufficient amount of pain, or got away with too much lucre.
More often than not, it'll be about someone with a much lower net worth, and lower annual income both gross & net, compared to just about everyone she knows.
And I can virtually promise that sick, other-wordly voice in which she delivers the lecture would make your ears curl up. So yeah, Karol, I was kind of looking forward to that. democrats always seem to be able to arrive at the conclusion that they're cheerful positive people devoid of any nastiness at all, no matter what challenge looms in the way of that conclusion. I just wanted to watch Hillary provide them with the challenge.
Posted by: Morgan K Freeberg at December 12, 2007 07:48 PMHillary is the most sane person likely to be the Democratic nominee. Normally I would love to see the Dems run someone like Obama, because I think he's just a weak politician. He's mastered the art of not saying anything, but he hasn't mastered the art of looking like he is saying something while he's not saying anything.
But if Huck is the Republican nominee I hope the Democrats nominate someone I can hold my nose and actually vote for.
Posted by: Eric at December 12, 2007 08:06 PMHillary is thin-skinned; we'll carve her up like a Thanksgiving turkey.
Barack is inexperienced and prone to foot-in-mouth disease; we could beat him, too.
Funny that Gerard should mention hard boiled fiction---I was just reading a biography about Raymond Chandler.

Dude...that is just...+++man+++ that is good.
I'm going to bookmark this and do it some justice tonight. That one thing you typed out is worthy of a re-read or two or three. Says it all.
"Golf clap" to you sir.
