Unintended benefits of a Hillary loss

Besides the fact that I get to point and laugh at Dawn Summers, that is, I also can't see Hillary running for re-election to the U.S. Senate if she loses the nomination. This has been the point of her elected office all along, a stepping stone to the presidency. If she loses the nomination, I think New York will be free of her. WOOOOOOOO. HOOOOOOOO.

UPDATE: No, Allah, I'm not daytime drinking.

More importantly, if Hillary loses the nomination her marriage to Bill is over.

Then we get the excitement of seeing Bill's Babe of The Week.

Do you think she'd accept VP on an Obama ticket?

I say hell no.

Posted by: Karol at January 8, 2008 02:16 PM

If she did accept the VP slot, Obama had better be real confident in his Secret Service detail.

Just sayin'.

Not to mention avoiding the boring discussions about if the Bushes or the Clintons resemble the Tudors.

Ooh, I didn't even think of that fringe benefit.

YESSSSSSS!!!!

Then again, the prospect of Senator Cuomo doesn't fill me with glee.

Don't you point and laugh at Dawn anyways?

Posted by: StB at January 8, 2008 03:04 PM

Wait, I thought she was doing it for the people of New York ...

Yikes! If he offered that to her he should be locked in a suicide ward because that is a serious death wish.

With only his life in between her and uber-power he'd survive longer pooning a white woman at a Klan rally.

Unfortunately Karol you are wrong. She is the Ted Kennedy of New York (only not as cute) - senator for life. Also, when the Republican wins the General you can bet everyone's house she'll try to seize uber-power again in 2012. *puke*

Normally I'd be pleased at the thought of the Clinton machine sabotaging Obama in the general, but this year has shown a disturbing lack of competence on their part.

Clinton would take the VP slot from Obama if he offered it, but he would not do that. There are better VPs to put on his ticket.

The one downside of not having Clinton as president is that she will be a NY US Senator for life. Ted Kennedy lost the 1980 Democratic Primary and the Massachusetts voters keep re-electing him Senator. I don't think that NY voters are any wiser than Massachusetts voters, so I expect we will be seeing Senator Clinton for many more decades.

Ironically, I think whether or not HRC runs for Senate re-election depends on whether Obama wins in the general. If he loses, the Clintons will be shouting "I told you so" from the hilltops and they'll be just enough sorry-juice in the Upper West Side electorate to send Mrs. C. back to Washington. On the other hand, if Obama wins, both Clintons become instant poison in Washington and I think she'll be joining Bill on the shadow government speaking trail. You don't think she ever gave a damn about representing New Yorkers in the Senate, do you?

Hillary will win.

Karol, you sure you aren't daytime drinking?

On a serious note, I think the only way Hillary ends up VP is if every copy of the Constitution mysteriously vanished tomorrow, aliens erased all of our memories, and Bill ran for a third term. Just sayin', I can't think of _anyone_ who would want their heartbeat between her and the Presidency.

Gee, Karol, maybe that amazing Spencer guy is still available...

Barking up the wrong tree with the Spencer crack:

Yeah, the Ted Kennedy analogy is the correct one. He was supposed to fade away after 1980 and he's still around. They said the same things about Calhoun, Clay, Webster, James G. Blaine, Bryan....and none of them went away. It's an endless addiction and I don't think HRC is going to bow out even if Obama demolishes her.

Well, good on you for recognizing Spencer for what he is.

I so frequently denounce things that I read here that I feel so convicted to point out the positive points.

Reading this blog is interesting to me.

Hillary will win.

How does that sound 'HIllary the comeback girl'

"I so frequently denounce things that I read here that I feel so convicted to point out the positive points."

If you didn't assume so much about your host, you wouldn't appear to be half the idiot you really are.

Why, thank you, pudgeball!

Posted by: hashfanatic at January 9, 2008 04:08 PM

Oooh, I haven't heard that one since...first grade? It's just like you: vacuous words, no substance.

But as a great captain once said, "You may test that assumption at your convenience."
