"I don't care what none of you say, I still love 'em"
I am getting so much Cowboys abuse today that I feel the need to reaffirm my Cowboys love. Here it is, smile on my face wearing a Cowboys shirt, the day after their terrible playoffs loss:
I rather be a 'Boys fan, even when they're losing, then the fan of any other team. I'm already looking forward to next year.

Just think how excited if they ever win a playoff game again!
Posted by: Doug at January 14, 2008 02:11 PMNice pic. You look truly happy. :)
Posted by: hashfanatic at January 14, 2008 02:27 PMwith your undying optimism even in the face of (temporary) defeat... are you suuuure you're not a Ron Paul supporter?
Nope, but by the same token I love Rudy and Fred.
Posted by: Karol at January 14, 2008 02:34 PMbut wouldn't the fact that you're loyal to one team, not immediately donning the gear of their New England rival, be a major difference between you and Rudy?
Posted by: E5 at January 14, 2008 02:38 PMNext year looks great. We just need to shore up our secondary and maybe address some issues on our offensive line.
Posted by: Shawn at January 14, 2008 02:49 PMbut wouldn't the fact that you're loyal to one team, not immediately donning the gear of their New England rival, be a major difference between you and Rudy?
Uhhhh no. When has Rudy EVER switched sides like that?
Posted by: Karol at January 14, 2008 03:02 PMGlad to see you're still representing the 'Boys, even if your jersey belongs to the worst player on the team.
Posted by: Drew at January 14, 2008 03:04 PMSmile all you want...you and we both know that you're dying a little inside. :P
Posted by: James at January 14, 2008 03:06 PMKarol has been a Cowgirl fan for about 5 minutes...her "love" of the cowboys is a bit phony...makes me think of mitt romney and Hillary.
no true die hard cowbay fan would be smiling the day after a brutal loss.
Posted by: Larry at January 14, 2008 03:11 PMSo Larry, as a Redskins and Detroit Tigers fan, when was the last time you smiled?
Posted by: Karol at January 14, 2008 03:14 PMwell, the tigers bitch slapped the yankees on the way to the 2006 world series....we have the best team in baseball this year.
The Skins made the playoffs despite turmoil and tragedy...that made me smile.
Posted by: Larry at January 14, 2008 03:17 PMwell, the tigers bitch slapped the yankees on the way to the 2006 world series....we have the best team in baseball this year.
They got swept by St. Louis, didn't they? ;)
One month until pitchers and catchers report.
Posted by: Shawn at January 14, 2008 03:23 PMOne month until pitchers and catchers report.
Yes, bring on the baseball.
Posted by: Karol at January 14, 2008 03:26 PMNext year looks great. We just need to shore up our secondary and maybe address some issues on our offensive line.
How can you have a center who doesn't know what a snap count is?
Even that Troofer asshat Stepnoski knew how to count.
This Pro Bowl ought to be entertaining.
Posted by: Gerard at January 14, 2008 03:52 PMI forgot the Tigers were even in the World Series. Why? History never remembers the losers. Now the Sox, on the other hand, World Champions in 2004 and 2007. And how about those Pats? We won 3 of the last 6 Super Bowls and are rolling on our way to win the next one. Undefeated and unstoppable, baby. And don't look now, but the Celtics are on a roll.
BOSTON = DOMINATION
The rest of you guys suck, just like that baseball team Karol supports.
Belichick cheated.
How can you have a center who doesn't know what a snap count is?
Some questions simply have no answers.
Posted by: Shawn at January 14, 2008 04:10 PMPoint taken.
Crayton takes the cake though.
Even Cowboys' fans can't spell your name correctly-that's how unremarkable you are as a player-what buisiness do you have talking smack about anyone, let alone Brandon Jacobs?
You're the fifth receiving option.
Daryl Johnston is probably more qualified to be on the field at this point.
Posted by: Gerard at January 14, 2008 04:28 PMYou guys don't understand. Karol's smiling in that, "Sure, my ex-boyfriend just married the multi-millionaire heiress on FHM'1 100 hottest women's list"-way. I mean, I haven't seen that big of a "I must smile or choke someone"-face since Jennifer Aniston was asked about Bradgelina.
Just sayin', as the fan of a team that crapped the bed against the J-E-T-S, JETS, JETS, JETS! the final week of the season, I'd rather stink out right then crap the bed on national TV.
As for the Redskins--c'mon now, it's not their fault their owner's an incompetent buffoon who can't get out of his own way. What excuse do the 'Boys have again?
Posted by: James at January 14, 2008 04:49 PMSee, that's where you misunderstand me, James. I would actually be happy if my ex-boyfriend married an FHM multimillionaire heiress. Why would I begrudge him his happiness? I'm a happy person, I want others to be too.
I love the Cowboys and wish they'd won but no use crying about it since they didn't. That smile is real.
Posted by: Karol at January 14, 2008 04:53 PMEven if the start date of his relationship with said woman was before the technical end date of your relationship? ;P
Okay, fine, if you're actually that happy, that's a good, healthy thing...I'm just not sure I could support the same team you did. :P
Posted by: James at January 14, 2008 05:17 PM"no use crying about it"
Tell your boyfriend T.O. that!
Posted by: Joe Grossberg at January 14, 2008 05:44 PMTell your boyfriend T.O. that!
Well, that's the thing, this is his job, he should cry that they did badly after such a hopeful season. Why should I be sad, though?
Posted by: Karol at January 14, 2008 06:59 PM"Uhhhh no. When has Rudy EVER switched sides like that?"
1994. Cuomo baby. Cuomo.
Posted by: Von Bek at January 14, 2008 07:12 PM1) the tigers lost in 5 games to the Cardinals...it was a fluke...our pitchers couldn't field, plus we had 8 days off...killed our momentum.
2) to the boston fan - I congratulate you on the 2 world series championships...I'd much rather the sox win then those rotten dirty bastards in the bronx.....regarding the cheating pats and that S.O.B. belicheat...they've had a great run, albeit by cheating, but when this run ends, the pats will go back to being an irrelevant NFL franchise.
3) to the Snyder basher - stop being brainwashed by the media....he's a great owner.
Posted by: Larry at January 14, 2008 08:15 PMDid Rudy flip flop?
I don't remember him endorsing Pataki-although he could have supported him in the GOP primary. My memory is a bit hazy.
Posted by: Gerard at January 15, 2008 12:19 AMLEAVE TONY ROMO ALONE!!!!!!11!!!!!!!1!!!eleven!!!!
Posted by: someone at January 15, 2008 12:57 AMThere were even more Youtube parodies/clips of that than I had anticipated.
Posted by: Gerard at January 15, 2008 01:30 AMDON'T WEAR THE JERSEY, KAROL! Wear the cheerleader outfit, instead.

Posted by: chsw at January 15, 2008 05:37 PMThe Cowboys are 'America's Team' in the same way that Cocaine is 'America's Drug'. They're both fun, but I wouldn't recommend it for long term use. Drop the boys and support a New York team. It's good for the soul.
As an aside, but an important one, you look amazing in that photograph.
Posted by: Jamie at January 16, 2008 02:15 AMSupporting a New York team _is_ good for the soul...if only because charity is a positive trait.
Gang Green plays in the same division as the Patriots and Big Blue has a case of schizophrenia every season. Sorry, I think a person would rather support a team of consistency, be it of suckitude or late season swan songs. (Which is why, of course, I am a Chiefs fan.) The Cowboys, with a few bright exceptions, usually provide a steady diet of both.
Posted by: James at January 16, 2008 12:08 PMDrop the boys and support a New York team. It's good for the soul.
*gag* :)
Posted by: Shawn at January 16, 2008 12:52 PMJames,
Supporting a team just because they're good consistently is not being a fan. It's getting behind a winner. Real fans stick with their home teams year after sucky year.
Shawn,
Is that the sound of you going down on T.O.?
Wow, I didn't just go there....
Posted by: Jamie at January 16, 2008 10:03 PMIs that the sound of you going down on T.O.?Wow, I didn't just go there....
No, that's the sound of puking over reading that crappy piece straight out of a self-help book...
...which I'm sure will be in high demand after Lil' Eli and the Giants choke on Sunday.
Jamie,
Re-read what I said about the Cowboys and consistency. I don't think I said that Karol should support them because they're winners. ;)
Also note that, as I said, I'm a Chiefs fan...which is about as far as you can be from supporting a team just because they're winners. Well, outside of Miami.
