They totally win

Palestinians are the best news-fakers in the world.

Hands-down, gold star, #1.

Is this an opinion? The situation there (and by there I also include the actions of Hammas) is just bad, bad, bad. A vicious cycle of death, usually non-combatants, that someone has lost the 'off' switch for.
The solution. Who knows? Hammas seems to have done what elected islamists have always done and shown that they are not credible people to run a tap, let alone a 'country'. Perhaps when they go, the will for peace will return. Israel, though having done some things in the past which have shown knee-jerk poor judgement, has shown a great deal more restraint in the last couple of years. Even so, the attacks have increased, and the retaliation seems reasonable.

I think Israel has definitely shown plenty of restraint on this one. I think if Mexico was shelling a small Texas town, nevermind putting rockets into a city of around 100k, the American response would have people thinking it was 1848, not 2008.

"Israel...has shown a great deal more restraint in the last couple of years"

Fat lot of good it's done them.

That's the problem when you have a PM who is an idiot and are a couple generations removed from the Holocaust.

The reason why Golda Meir, Moshe Dayan, et. al. were so successful is that they led a population that understood what pure hate was and why you didn't negotiate with folks who felt that way about you. It's a lot harder to generate the motivation to do what's necessary when you don't remember what Auschwitz smelled like and, for that matter, the world in general has drifted away from letting countries make terrorists pay for committing atrocities.

The Gazans elected Hamas. Hamas decided it was a good idea to start lobbing rockets into Israel. I've got about as much sympathy for the Palestinians as I do for the denizens of Tokyo circa March 1945 (less, actually--the latter didn't choose their government). Sometimes life sucks because you decide to follow stupid people.

Palestinians will stop faking news the minute MSM stops being so hungry for Anti-Israel news.

This is about as news-y as Hardball or the O'Reilly Factor.
