In between the lines of Eliot Spitzer's apology
"I have acted in a way that violates my obligations to my family ... my sense of right and wrong,"
Look, his sense of right and wrong have been violated! He's as much a victim as anyone!
"I must now dedicate some time to rededicate my trust to my family."
Someone else had his trust, apparently, but now it's being rededicated to his family. Sweet.

Eliot, sometimes when you break something (like your word), it can not be repaired.
It will never be the same again.
Your wife will never look at you the same way again.
For the rest of your life, when you look into your daughters' eyes, the innocence you used to love will be replaced by something slightly jaded.
Your life has just changed forever. It will never be the same again.
$5,000? That's nothing. But you already know that, don't you?
