You wouldn't like him when he's angry
My all-time favorite superhero growing up was the Incredible Hulk. I was half in love with David Banner, or as much as a 7-year old can be, and that music when he walks off into the distance at the end of every episode, well, it always got me right there.
I didn't see the first Hulk movie because it looked so bad I was glad they left off the "Incredible". But the upcoming one looks pretty good and I love a scrawny Ed Norton as David Banner.

That music was always among my favorites, too.

I'm actually looking forward to this one and don't even remember if i bothered to watch the first one.
Oh man... there was nothing better than Bill Bixby, Lou Ferrigno and the awesomeness of The Hulk. The milky blue eyes, the way his clothes managed to somehow morph with him. The Times Square episode! My brothers and I loved the show and yes the ending music was always a little tearjerkery, but in a good way - I love that the new movie (or at least the trailer) is using it. Very cool. I'll remain cautiously optimistic about Liv Tyler (stunning girl but a horrible actress).
Now where's the CHiPs movie?
Posted by: Ari at May 2, 2008 02:19 AMI always wondered how Jack McGee managed to pay the bills, what with being so busy chasing the story. I remember when I was 10, having a holiday at a holiday camp. No TV in the rooms, but 2 TV rooms (only 3 channels in those days). I went in and got a ggod seat to watch the show, and sat at the front, and, by the time the great music ended it, the room was holding around 300 people, standing room only at the back. You could've heard a pin drop it was so quiet.
I'm waiting for the 'Salvage 1' movie :)
You mean, they couldn't get John McCain?
Posted by: toby at May 2, 2008 12:20 PMWhat was wrong with Ang Lee's interpretation?
He's a cinematic genius, and I think he did a phenomenal job with the material, especially in his casting.
Then again, I'm not really into comics so I guess I wasn't viewing it from the perspective of how faithful it was to the original comic book-TV adaptation.
Posted by: Gerard at May 2, 2008 01:51 PMWhat was wrong with Ang Lee's? Well, for starters the CGI was obviously fake. Not that one is expecting a huge amount from a comic book movie, but there are limits.
Second, the scaling was consistently wrong in the movie. One second the Hulk would be one size then the next he'd be another. The Hulk, with a few exceptions, doesn't generally change size throughout the comics.
Finally, there were just various issues with the storyline, pacing, and dialogue. Read most of the reviews from when AL's Hulk came out and you'll get the idea--I'm not diving into it here.
I'm not saying the first Hulk was an abysmal movie (see Crow: City of Angels as an example of just crapping the bed on a franchise--I still want that time in my life back!), it just wasn't as good as say, the first X-Men was.
