Song of the Day
"Clean" by Depeche Mode
This is a really great, acoustic version of the song:

A great track from a great album. My personal favourites are 'Blue dress' and then 'Personal Jesus'. Reminds me of a mixed up girl I once loved.
Posted by: bryan at May 12, 2008 04:10 PMMy favorite DM song is "Blue Dress". Such a sexy, sexy track. I also love "Policy of Truth" and "No Good". Love DM all around, one of my favorites ever.
Posted by: Karol at May 12, 2008 04:19 PMI'm a huge fan, too! I spent a entire night at the Depeche Mode bar in Tallinn, Estonia last year, although I don't drink or go to bars. (I interviewed the owner and hope to eventually write it up. I like that someone used the fall of communism to open up a business dedicated to their favorite band.)
An interesting take on this song was recorded by the noise metal band Converge if that;s the sort of thing you're into.
Posted by: Shawn Macomber at May 12, 2008 06:26 PMOn a tangentially related note, Yazoo have reformed. The tangent I mean is Vince Clark, from the "just can't get enough" days of DM. I think he's had to go back to Alison Moyet due to Andy (erasure) Bell's ill-health (HIV+).

Posted by: Rod McKuen at May 13, 2008 10:55 AMYes, he wrote this song after about 6 years being strung out. Violator is almost a celebration of his recovery
