Song of the Day

"American Boy" by Estelle feat. Kanye West.

Wait. What's the point of having British friends if they don't tell me about hot music like this? I'm looking at all y'all.

I, of course, love the line about Brooklyn. What's good?

It's funny, because I've heard this song in the rotation at Hot-97 for the past few months and have been strangely disinclined to switch the station, which I suppose just goes to validate Mr. West's Big Mac/Donald Trump Theorem.

"Take me to New York/ I want to see LA"
A very tall building and very powerful telescope needed. There's a few spoof versions (eg Somerset boy) as well.
Every time I've reccommended a track, you've left it hanging, so I stopped. Dizzee Rascal, Goldfrapp, Calvin Harris and Mark Ronson (including the Amy Winehouse rework of the classic Zutons "Valerie" (original better IMO).

Oh and Elbow. "The seldom seen Kid" is shaping up to be a classic IMO. Their version of "Independent Woman" by kittens (in flat caps) is on www.rathergood.com.

Normally I just dispise this kind of music, but this girl's voice is just mesmerizing.

bour3, is this a Dr Who reference?
See, I've reccommended some people again, and not even a 'I don't like Dizzee Rascal, he's crap'. Some feedback will help if you want forwarning of British new acts. Or you could peruse BBC Radio 1 once in a while. Many tastes catered for, but plenty of cutting edge stuff.
