Vague

Barack Obama's first general election ad is up. Allah says it's generic because it has to be.

Meanwhile, Harry Siegel at Politico is saying Obama may win the popular vote and lose the election. That sounds about right to me, actually. My prediction is that McCain holds all the Bush states and the election comes down to Ohio which McCain then wins (c'mon, Ohio, don't let us down just because you've had the worst Republicans of all time in charge of your fine state), but I can see Obama crushing McCain in all the states that are already "blue" producing a massive popular vote win but an electoral college loss.

Great, another four years of "selected, not elected" and cries to do away with the electoral college...

I used to think Obama had no chance but now I think he's going to crush McCain. Like Reagan in '84. He's like Elvis and if you need any reminder that voters prefer style to substance, Jimmy Carter was elected after running a whole campaign of saying hopeful things without saying anything at all. McCain stands no chance.

I actually had a dream that Obama won. The whole world swooned and pundits proclaimed that his inaugural speach was like the Gettysburg Address, Lincoln's 2nd Inaugural Address, Washington's Farewell Address, JFK's Inaugural Address, and MLK's "I Have a Dream" speach all rolled into one and multiplied by a thousand.

McCain is toast.

Jimmy Carter was elected because the Republicans had a nasty, brutal primary (you should know, I do believe you are a fellow expert on the year 1976) which divided the party. Also, Ford pardoning Nixon didn't help.

Karol, you're right. The center will hold, and the coasts will fold.

That's just what they were saying about GWB this time eight years ago.

I'm beginning to realize that a McCain victory won't matter in the great struggle against the elemental Leftist forces loose now in this country and driving Obama. McCain will not confront these forces, just as Bush didn't. They will fester and spread. The reckoning will only be put off. As I see no conservative political figure in America recognizing much less taking on the new Left in all its malignant political and cultural forms, I can only conclude that the only way to destroy this movement is to give it power. Only this, and the certain dysfunction and disaster attending it, will shatter the rapture for millions of clueless Americans. Only the Left can destroy the Left. The question is, how much else will they destroy? Can America bear it?

The worst Republicans of all time ran Illinois.

I think Obama's gonna get STOMPED like Mondale did in '84.

There's what, five months left until the general?

In that time, Obama will assuredly throw more people under the bus, and at some point?

The wheels are gonna come flying off as a result.

Time will tell.

I think you're missing the obvious in that Obama ad. (http://adage.com/campaigntrail)
