Song of the Day
"If Winter Ends" by Bright Eyes.
I've written before about my mild fascination with Conor Oberst (I should note that I wrote about not liking his album "Wide Awake It's Morning" when it came out and now I love it so much, it's likely my second favorite Bright Eyes album after "Lifted...") and this is the song that began it all. It was the first Bright Eyes song I ever heard and I remember being extremely impressed that it was made by an 18-year old. Listening to it now, though, it certainly sounds teenage. Only an 18-year old can give themselves three days to feel better or else they're driving off the f*cking cliff. Still, I like it and it's today's Song of the Day. Enjoy. And don't drive off any cliffs.
