No, no, please no

From the Spectator:

Three Republican state party chairmen have confirmed that within the last 36 hours they received calls from senior McCain presidential campaign advisers asking for their feedback on a McCain-Sen. Joseph Lieberman Republican ticket.

I hope he doesn't do that. Lieberman won't bring any add'l "undecideds" or "unaffililateds" that McCain doesn't already appeal to.

Obama is going to select a male VP, because the only woman he could possibly choose is Hillary, and he's not that dumb.

That will open open a HUGE window for McCain to choose a woman for his VP. A 71 year-old president with a female VP will have very big appeal to Hillary constituents. If he chooses another white guy VP, he'll just invite the "they're just a bunch of white guys" moniker.

I think it's a pretty smart move from a strategic perspective. Conservatives aren't gonna be happy about it, but really, where are we gonna go? Lieberman looks like Buckley next to Obama.

Grumpy's strategy from the very beginning is to sidle in just to Obama's right. This doesn't surprise me at all.

Two warmonger welfare-statists. Sounds like a perfect match to me.

At this rate it looks like no one is going to win the coming electiom. ARGH.

I hope the feedback that McCain is getting is one of panic and terror. It is very possible that the convention would refuse to vote for Lieberman.

I'm inclined to agree with the folks who are musing that Lieberman's name has been proposed to make it his actual choice (Ridge?) more acceptable.

Don't pick a white guy...don't pick a white guy...don't pick a white guy...don't pick a white guy...don't pick a white guy...

I hear McCain is also floating Cotton-eyed Joe as his Veep, since he was released from the Yankees this season. He was costing them too much money and grief.

Maybe McCain should pick Rumsfeld to throw everyone for a loop. ;)

As long as he doesn't pick Romney...

I was going to say there's not a whole lot of room behind Lieberman as worst...pick...ever.

Then, DanielP, you reminded me I wasn't thinking hard enough. *shudder*

Quite honestly, I think Americans want to heal this election.

Obama and Biden are unber-liberals, and Biden is just plain mean.

McCain-Lieberman could definitely be what the folks are ailin' for.

Plus, choosing Lieberman when Hamas has supported Obama is pretty slick.

I can see the YouTube videos already.
