The word...
...is that McCain's VP is Tim Pawlenty or Mitt Romney. My money is on Pawlenty.

Absolutely. McCain's campaign needs a new, non-distracting face.
I'll be happy to vote for Romney in eight years, but I don't think he brings much to the ticket now.
Posted by: Snoop-Diggity-DANG-Dawg at August 22, 2008 11:14 AMIf it's Romney, that will be a disgrace and a slap in the face of all the Hucksters out there.
I wonder how much Mitt paid to get the gig?
explain to me what a guy who didn't resonate with voters during the primary is going to help mccain?....mccain must be doing this for the money romney can bring in.
maybe mccain got tired of listening to the sean hannity's of the world beg for Romney?
Posted by: Larry at August 22, 2008 11:53 AMHead -> Romney
Heart -> Pawlenty
"If it's Romney, that will be a disgrace and a slap in the face of all the Hucksters out there."
And that's a bad thing? I wouldn't mind slapping that crowd right out of the party.
Posted by: Ken at August 22, 2008 01:52 PMKen,
yea, let's kick out a proven leader....let's kick out the greatest speaker since Reagan...the list goes on...
and why do people like you want to kick the hucksters out?....I'm curious...
is it because of the bogus creationism nonsense?...is it because of the ridiculous theocratic state garbage?.....is it because of the distorted economic record?
or is it because you're a mitt romney fan?
Posted by: Larry at August 22, 2008 02:33 PMI think trying to force Huck out of the GOP is a fool's errand.
After all, the guys does have Chuck Norris on his side.
Posted by: Shawn at August 22, 2008 03:13 PMIt's because he's the Republican equivalent of Barack Obama. All hat. No horse. Proven leadership record. Give me a break. I think we learned our lesson last time we elected someone from the economic powerhouse of Arkansas.
And, yes, I do have problems with his Swing-low sweet Jesus aw-shucksterism. Hell, he combines the worst attributes of Obama and Jimmy Carter. But hey, let's vote for him cuz he speaks well. And he'll be speaking well on the obesity panel (aka nanny-state panel) during the convention. That's a proper role for him. Having that clown half a breath away from the oval office is just too much.
Posted by: Ken at August 22, 2008 03:50 PMKen,
Are you a Romney groupie? at least let me know if you are so I can take your comments with a grain of salt.
Huck was re-elected 4 times, had a 65% approval rating, voted one of the 5 best governors by Time Magazine, was the chairman of the National Governors Association, etc...
the problem for some republicans is that he's not an elitist...he's a populist with conservative principles.
and on top of all that he's a great speaker.
by the way....can someone explain why the same republicans who bash huck for his tax record as governor, praise Reagan....he raised taxes as governor.
Posted by: Larry at August 22, 2008 04:11 PMFYI, so you both know what they're dealing with here:
Larry is a (not religious) Jew from Brooklyn who has inexplicably fallen in love with Huckabee.
Ken is a southern-born Atheist who thought Condi might be the nominee in '08.
Neither of you makes any sense.
Posted by: Karol at August 22, 2008 04:45 PMFYI, Karol is a Yankees, Cowboys & a wannabee Lakers fan...Like I told her before, she should get a Obama bumper sticker and a "yes we can" t-shirt.
Everything I say makes sense...you know that.
Regarding Ken...I can see how an atheist might dislike Huck, but his religon is an overblown issue.
Posted by: Larry at August 22, 2008 05:28 PMAt this point, I have to wonder why anyone would want the job (ditto for the Dem side). I mean, this has the potential to be an ugly, jacked up election where even the winning team comes out bruised.
Why sign up for that as either Huck or Romney when you have a decent chance of either being able to run on your own in 2012 or in 2016?
Posted by: James at August 22, 2008 06:14 PMKarol,
Stop lookin at pics of T.O., stop trying on Kobe Bryant Jersey's, stop crying that Joba is hurt.....just enlighten me why I make no sense.
Posted by: Larry at August 22, 2008 06:40 PMLet's go Pawlenty!!! Who has a stupid name now, beetches?
