Wedding update
We've narrowed our location search down to a few islands with Turks&Caicos in the lead. Anyone have any Turks suggestions?
Update: Turns out T&C doesn't allow weddings on Sundays! Which is a problem for 2 Jews looking to get married as we can't do it on Friday or Saturday. Oy vey.

I'd say either Tuscany or maybe somewhere in Umbria...Oh wait, sorry.
HI KIDS!!! Useless comment, I know :-) Just wanted to say hi.

All for T&C best Scuba diving of any island with an apersand.
Posted by: Dan at October 20, 2008 01:49 PMHow are you going to get a Republican dress from Manhattan to Turks and Caicos?
Posted by: Not Dawn Summers at October 20, 2008 02:18 PMOn an airplane. Although I'm with Lou. I want Italy. I want Italy!
Posted by: Karol at October 20, 2008 02:26 PMYou can do it after sunset on Saturday.
Posted by: Jim Lesczynski at October 20, 2008 02:39 PMYes but who wants to get married on a beach in the dark?
Posted by: Karol at October 20, 2008 02:42 PMGet married in NY City Hall. Find a Rabbi to bless your union on Sunday in the T&C. Wear the dress, smash the glass, whose gonna care if there's cake?

Posted by: Farkle McBride at October 20, 2008 03:34 PMTry the Virgin Islands - Caneel Bay or any of several resorts on Gorda, one of the UK islands. You could also try Puerto Rico. Moreover, if you want to get married when its cold in NYC, try something in the southern hemisphere.
However, I think you young'uns should get married close to NYC to save your family and friends the travel money. Then you can leave for wherever.
chsw
Posted by: chsw at October 20, 2008 06:05 PMlook into curacao - it's amazing and has one of the oldest/coolest synagogues in the caribbean.
Posted by: Sara at October 20, 2008 10:14 PMI second chsw - get married close to home, then leave for "two of you within the world" trip to somewhere - doesn't matter where.
Posted by: Tatyana at October 21, 2008 08:02 AMHey, that was my idea!
Posted by: bryan at October 21, 2008 08:32 AMI know that seems like it would be easier but I assure you all that it's just not. Planning a wedding in NY is the biggest headache of all time and we like the idea of spending 4 days with friends and family and then switching to another island to honeymoon alone.
Posted by: Karol at October 21, 2008 09:45 AMKarol, what do you think of Brooklyn Botanical Garden conservatory? They let it to weddings, and it's a beautiful serence setting
Posted by: Tatyana at October 21, 2008 10:28 AMIt's beautiful, I've been there for parties but we want to exhaust all of our outside-NY options before we even look at NY.
