Coleman wins recount
But, as always with Democrats, the campaign continues!

It'd be nice if SCOTUS, should it get that far, would establish that it's up to the legislative and executive branches to fix their own sh*t, not the courts.
Posted by: James at December 5, 2008 08:44 PMThis post is pretty disingenuous. Coleman is winning before the challenges are resolved. The majority of those challenges were made by Coleman and most of the challenges - by both candidates - were frivolous. We'll see who wins when the recount actually ends.
What is it with you guys and not finishing recounts?
Posted by: Charles at December 5, 2008 09:13 PMWell, you would be the expert on disingenuous Charles.
Posted by: Casca at December 5, 2008 09:23 PMUm, what is it with Democratic-leaning places and missing ballots "reappearing"? From Kennedy and Chicago to now Franken and Minneapolis, you'd think that ballot boxes were small, easy to miss items.
(On an aside, I bet if "losing" a ballot box meant that every party head in the counties in question was fined $100,000 per vote in the box those suckers wouldn't disappear nearly as often.)
Posted by: James at December 5, 2008 09:39 PMBased on what, Casca? I've always been perfectly clear that I think you're an asshole.
Posted by: Charles at December 5, 2008 11:43 PMLiar, you know I'm not a lawyer.
Posted by: Casca at December 6, 2008 01:01 AMThe irony is that his political campaign has achieved something his failed career as a comedian never did. Namely, making Al Franken amusing.
Posted by: Gerard at December 6, 2008 01:26 AMCharles, we do finish recounts and then you guys don't like the result so you try to keep going. The "campaign continues" line is a quote from Gore's campaign chair in 2000. How could the "campaign" continue when the votes are all in?
Posted by: Karol at December 6, 2008 11:31 AMTwo words: Christine Fraudoire.
Posted by: Gerard at December 6, 2008 01:09 PMKarol: But you know that in the case the recount actually is continuing. The review of challenged ballots is part of the recount process. Who cares who is winning the recount in the middle of the count?
Gerard: In what way is Al Franken's career evidence that he is a failed comedian? You may think he isn't funny but he is no more a failed comedian than Larry the Cable Guy, as unwatchable a comic as there ever has been, is.

Oh, I don't know. Perhaps the fact that he's not funny...?
