Song of the Day

"The cars that go boom" by L'Trimm.

Wikipedia informs me that I was about 11 years old when this song came out. One of the catchiest songs of all time, I can still recite every single word to it, and also to their totally dirty song "Grab It".

"The cars that go boom" isn't art, or anything, but I challenge you not to smile while watching this totally 80's video. And I actually always hated the cars that went boom.

I saw these guys in concert. They were an opening act for Kyper, who did "Tic-Tac-Toe" and "What Makes Your Body Hype (XTC)" ... about a decade before New Yorkers even knew what X was

You really shouldn't tell people that.

I have a mashup of this with Cars (Randy Newman) that's surprisingly good.

Watching the video now, though? Make me think of "Let's Go To The Mall" by Robin Sparkles.

Randy Newman. Haha. Didn't he write that "I Love LA" song?

Gary Numan wrote and sang "Cars". Randy Newman (no relation that I know of) wrote and sang "I Love LA", along with "Short People", "You've Got a Friend in Me" (from Toy Story) along with numerous others.
