I hate when those possibilities of cooperation open up, don't you? Or maybe you mean the quid pro quo rumors, which Medvedev said "were not raised in this way."

It's funny, one of my friends updated his FB page with the statement "the Russians are in charge" after Obama was inaugurated. Usually, that would be a figurative expression of his dissatisfaction with the incoming administration's policies, but in this case I think a literal application is in order.

Mike, how will Obama know the Russians are helping on Iran? What the hell does it meann to be "open to overtures", anyway? Was there a time when the Bush administration refused to talk to the Russians?

Jesus Christ this guy is a babe in the woods. We haven't seen anybody this naive in foreign policy since Madeline Albright, who managed to back us into a war in Serbia that nobody wanted on either side.

I never thought I would be happy to have Hillary in charge at state. At least she might be able to play this game reasonably well if Obama doesn't get in her way.
