Oy, New York

I saw Mark Green crossing a street a few weeks ago by my apartment. I wondered what the most unlikable politician of all time (the only person he may be second to is John Kerry) was up to these days. Yesterday, while hurrying down the street, I thought I stepped over a card that said "Mark Green for Public Advocate." I didn't have time to stop and look but decided that that was not possible because Mark Green swore, and I happily believed him, that he would never seek public office again and also because the man who gave us Mike Bloomberg should be in a hole somewhere still writing his apology letters.

And yet, he's in the lead to retake his old job.

He's got my vote.

Whaaaaaa? Why?

Gerard means the more evil of the two is Bloomberg. Green maybe a backwards liberal, but he is what he is and also is a strict politician. Bloomberg is an Emporer who will find all the more reason to label everyone beneath his exhaulted efforts a disgrace.

There is absolutely no valid reason for a conservative-minded New Yorker to re-elect Bloomberg. I will argue that he is not the lesser of two evils, but the greater. By usurping the will of the people so he can run a Third Term is a clear indication that this man is another Hugo Chavez.

How is it that in a country like Honduras, they show their wanna-be emporer the door (to an airplane) and New Yorkers welcome theirs to a possible 3rd Term.

As for Green, my GF was on the L train and he was sitting across from her. Apparently one of his boys was instructed to get up and check to see if the A & C lines go to 125th St. The map happened to be right behind my GFs body.

She looked at him and nodded. Green asked his volunteer to check something else. he then looked at my GF who again nodded confirming his question. He then said, She seems to know, so why don't you sit down now.

Then a guy next to green said he heard he was running again for Advocate and wished him luck.

So, tell me this. Mark Green served PA for 8 years. Has lived in NY for almost all his life. And he didn't know if the A or C went to 125th St?
Is this a man of the people?

Mark Green is not running for mayor. He's running for public advocate. Neither he nor Bloomberg will have my vote.

Why?

Because the sooner he reclaims his essentially useless post, the sooner it will be abolished. I give it a year, two max, before we have a bill to get rid of this ridiculous position.

No. He had your day. We need some new ideas not round up the usual suspects.
