Song of the Day

"D.O.A" by Jay-Z

We're going to see Jay-Z in concert on Friday! And while I probably won't get to tell him that Che Guevara hated black people (the one thing I swear I'll say if I ever do meet Jay-Z), I can't wait to see this living legend. D.O.A is my favorite song off of his new album, and the video is fairly awesome. Harvey Keitel's response to Jay-Z asking if he's ok is just classic.

I'm going to see Coldplay in Glasgow next week and Jay-Z is supporting! I can't wait!

Ha, cracks me up. I'm a big fan of Jay-Z myself, though I rarely admit it. I like your idea about what to say if you meet Jay-Z in person and I think I might borrow it if I ever happen upon him, with full credit to you, of course. Ha!

I just sent you an email, too, FYI. Hope all is well!

Did he? I seem to remember that some of his closest comrades in Cuba were black and he did go and fight in the Congo where there are a fair few black people too.

He's quoted as calling them lazy, stupid, and generally worthless. That he used them when he needed them isn't such a big surprise. Also, to this day black people are second class citizens in the Communist paradise of Cuba that Che helped create.

That could be a quote from just about anyone who has spent even a short time in Africa. Not me though. I've worked with lots of lazy, stupid and generally worthless people a long time before I went to Africa and most of them were Scottish.

And any country that has Jay-Z opening for Coldplay cannot be trusted...

Maybe Coldplay is just bigger in Scotland.

I think Alceste meant that it's odd to have a hip-hop artist opening for a band.
