Or else I'm going to have to say it again.

As Robin Williams joked about the UK, civilians are unarmed, and police are unarmed too. So police say, "Stop! Or I'll stay 'stop' again!"

So what are you suggesting instead? An invasion of Iraq? Short of that, what can any American president do except various versions of saying "stop?"

Tell that one to the London newspaper seller walking past some cops who was killed by a blow to the head earlier this year. The guy was walking past with his head down and hands in his pockets.

Wait...this guy ?? lol... 2 sides to every story I guess.

"On April 1, the day of the anti-capitalist G20 protests that shut the City of London down, Tomlinson, a newspaper seller, was standing in the middle of the road, smoking a cigarette, blocking a police van and telling the police where they could go and what they could do with themselves. After stubbornly standing in their way for several minutes, Tomlinson was forced out of the road by riot officers.

Tomlinson continued to dawdle around the city for a half-hour after the incident, when he was shoved to the ground by an officer, who probably recognized him as a troublemaker. Witnesses say that Tomlinson reeked of alcohol. Tomlinson got back up moments later, after remonstrating with the officer who pushed him, and walked 200 feet before collapsing and dying. Initial reports were that Tomlinson died of a heart attack, though post-mortems revealed internal bleeding or an "abdominal haemorrhage.""

Reagan never had to invade Russia to end the Cold War, but he did more than just babble at them. Obama is a total wuss and Iran knows this. He send them his stupid face on video after he got elected telling them how badly he wanted to be friends with them; and they laughed at him. So really what I want is a badass president to scare them straight. Where is our next Reagan?

So what are you suggesting instead? An invasion of Iraq?Note that I never said anything of the kind. You really like to put words into other people's mouths.
Short of that, what can any American president do except various versions of saying "stop?"I seem to recall a Democrat once being pretty tough and surprisingly successful, without having to invade and certainly not having to turn things into a war.

A blockade worked in '62, and it would work today. Oh, it's a certainty that Iran would retaliate via Hezbollah and whatever else, but do you think that they won't use nuclear weapons once they acquire them? We'd simply be pushing the inevitable attacks forward in time.

I want to you ask yourself very, very seriously: what do you think Iran is doing that you think "words" are sufficient?

"Note that I never said anything of the kind. You really like to put words into other people's mouths."

Note that I wasn't addressing you, Einstein. I was addressing the person who was mocking the President for, apparently, not taking a sufficiently bellicose attitude toward Iran.

Sometimes stuff isn't about you. Hard to believe, eh?

You replied directly beneath me, so it's very fair to assume that, uh, you are replying to me.

Try learning some Netiquette, dipshit. It helps to name the person you're replying to.

Of course, you had no reply to what I actually said. How typical of you. Why don't you go back out and play with some rabid skunks, and see how far "playing nice" will get you?

"You replied directly beneath me, so it's very fair to assume that, uh, you are replying to me."

Except that I didn't, uh, reply to anything you actually, uh, wrote, so it was pretty clear that what I wrote wasn't aimed at you.

"Of course, you had no reply to what I actually said."

Probably because I wasn't, uh, addressing you.

"Try learning some Netiquette, dipshit."

That sentence speaks for itself.

Except that I didn't, uh, reply to anything you actually, uh, wrote, so it was pretty clear that what I wrote wasn't aimed at you.You really like to dance around so others repeat themselves, don't you? As any idiot with half a brain could see, it could have very easily been addressed at me, considering Karol and I both made the same point without saying anything.
Probably because I wasn't, uh, addressing you.See above. Do you backtrack like this in real life?

So let's hear your ideas on Iran, or are you just going to blabber on about minutiae? If you haven't learned by now, bubba, I won't let anyone -- particularly you -- get away with anything.
That sentence speaks for itself.Yes, doesn't it? Like I said, try learning it sometime.

Just shut up and let the adults have intelligent conversation, all right? You don't need to continue proving that you're the resident Cowardly Liar. Good lord, you really must be a glutton for punishment. You check out my blog far, far too often.

Dan, the "reeks of alcohol" one has been used before, and in this case was discredited. Don't believe me? Then look at the footage of the killing blow (police in London are not allowed to be filmed, but thank the Heavens somebody flouted that law).
There's been a couple of diabetics "reeking of alcohol" who have died in Police custody. There was also that raid on a muslim family which turned up nothing, but ended with one guy getting smeared for posessing Child Porn (not true), the family being smeared for having a large amount of cash in the house (true, but irrelevent), and one of the male family members being shot (not fatally). The Metroplotan Police forces smear machine would out-hack the smeariest blog you could name.

Sorry, Metropolitan.

Hey Bryan,

Thanks for the link. Although I am no expert something odd happened in that video. Yes he was pushed excessively but he was also being verbally warned to move and was not. He appeared to be loitering about not walking home from work as claimed. Basically he got pushed because he refused to move. Shit happens that cop did not intend to kill him based on what I saw in the video. I would say it's a stretch to call that police brutality. I've done worse to friends into the pool.

Posted by: Dan dee man at October 5, 2009 11:14 AM

I'm not sure about that video, but it's usually american tourists who get the best footage.

Was the link posted here? I didn't see it.
